Theart Press was founded in 2009 with Athol Williams' first book of poetry 'Heap of Stones' written under his pseudonym of AE Ballakisten.

Theart Press publishes inspirational children's books, poetry books and biographies.

​

The name 'THEART' combines the letters from THought and hEART which captures the idea that meaningful discourse and writing derives from both our intellect and emotions. We seek to publish writing that comes from the head AND the heart.

Theart Press is run by Taryn Lock who is the Managing Director. Taryn is also a children's book illustrator.

All proceeds from Theart Press' book sales go to Read to Rise so that children in areas such as Mitchells Plain and Soweto can get access to new story books.
